Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea: Thomas Tuchel picks up his first London derby win

Tottenham Hotspur continue their disastrous run of form with a home defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho scored the only goal of the game with the first-half penalty to secure a vital away win for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Spurs have now failed to win eight of their last ten matches in the League and it will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho can guide them out of this crisis in the coming weeks.

The Portuguese manager was heavily packed during the summer transfer window with new players and Daniel Levy will be expecting the site to qualify for Champions League football.

Currently, Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League table with just 33 points and they will have to improve immensely in order to break into the top 4.

Meanwhile, tonight’s win takes Chelsea up to six with 36 points and they will be hoping to close the gap with fourth-placed Liverpool in the coming weeks.

Chelsea were deserving winners on the night and they managed to control the game from the start.

Jorginho converted from the penalty spot after Eric Dier brought down Timo Werner in the Tottenham box.

The likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Marcos Alonso and Mason Mount had chances to increase Chelsea’s advantage early on in the second half.

Tottenham had a glorious chance to level things up towards the end of the game but Carlos Vinicius failed to hit the target after a splendid cross from Serge Aurier.
