Tottenham climb to the top of the Premier League as they win North London derby over Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur continued their impressive run a form with a win over Arsenal in the Premier League earlier today.

Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane scored either side of half time to secure a 2-0 win over Arsenal in the north London Derby.

The win sees Tottenham rise to the top of the table with 24 points from 11 matches and Jose Mourinho will be delighted with his team’s performance here.

Although Arsenal had the lion’s share of possession here, they struggled to breakdown the Tottenham defence and the home side managed to grind out the all-important three points in the end.

Arsenal are now 15th in the Premier League table with just 13 points from 11 matches and they will be under immense pressure to turn their form around in the coming weeks.

Mikel Arteta was backed in the transfer market during the summer and he will be expected to guide Arsenal to a top-four finish this season.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can bounce back strongly in the coming weeks.

There is no doubt that the Gunners have a quality team at their disposal but their attackers are in poor form and Arteta needs to fix that in order to climb up the table.

As for Tottenham, they will be hoping to build on this and put together a winning run now.

Jose Mourinho has an impressive track record of winning major trophies in his second season with clubs and he will be hoping to end Tottenham’s quest for silverware this year.
