Liverpool cruise to a comfortable away win against Crystal Palace

Liverpool picked up a 7-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Jürgen Klopp decided to rest his top scorer Mohamed Salah for a vital away game but the Egyptian’s replacement Takumi Minamino stepped up brilliantly and scored the opening goal for Liverpool two minutes into the game.

Crystal Palace got back into the game soon after and started to dominate possession. The London club managed to carve out a few chances as well but the lack of sharpness in the final third meant that they could not convert their chances.

Meanwhile Liverpool were clinical and they doubled their advantage on the 35th minute when Sadio Mane scored from the edge of the box.

Roberto Firmino added a third on the 44th minute after a sensational cross from Andy Robertson.

Jordan Henderson got on the scoresheet as well with a stunning long range effort on the 51st minute.

Roberto Firmino added his second of the game with an outstanding dink over the keeper on the 68th minute.

Salah came on in the second half to add a brace to wrap up the scoring.

Palace were in impressive form coming into the game and they will be disappointed to have dropped all three points here.

They had plenty of chances to get something out of this contest and it will be interesting to see if they can improve on their finishing in the coming weeks.

As for Liverpool, they picked up a vital win over Tottenham during the midweek and they have now managed to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to six points.

Jürgen Klopp will be pleased with the performance from his players and Liverpool will now look to build on this momentum and put together a winning run.

The Reds have been quite mediocre on their travels this season and today’s away win will have given them immense confidence.
