Tottenham could move for £50m Liverpool target next summer

Tottenham are thought to be keen on signing the Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

According to reports Liverpool are closely watching the midfielder as well and there could be a £50 million transfer scramble next summer.

The 24-year-old was outstanding for Leeds in the championship last year and he has done well in the Premier League so far.

The defensive midfielder has managed to break into the England first team as well and he has a big future ahead of him.

The likes of Tottenham and Liverpool could use more midfield depth and Phillips should prove to be a quality long-term addition for them.

The player is likely to be tempted if big clubs like Tottenham and Liverpool come in for him with a concrete offer and it will be interesting to see if Leeds United are willing to cash in on their prized prospect.

Leeds have returned to the Premier League after 16 years and they will be hoping to establish themselves as a top-half club now. they cannot afford to lose their key players and the whites will be desperate to hold on to the likes of Phillips.

Leeds are under no financial pressure to sell their key players and the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool will have to pay over the odds to convince them.

Phillips has the talent to play for a club with European football and it will be interesting to see if he decides to force a move away from Elland Road next summer.
