Man United eyeing up a move for 22-yr-old South American if Pogba leaves

Paul Pogba-Manchester United

Manchester United are thought to be keen on signing the Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.

The 22-year-old is impressing for the Spanish Giants this season an Manchester United are thought to be long term admirers of the Uruguayan midfielder.

Midfielder Paul Pogba has recently admitted his desire to play for Real Madrid and the Premier League side are considering a swap deal involving the two midfielders.

Valverde is an immense talent and he has a big future ahead of him. It would be quite a coup for Manchester United if they managed to sign the 22-year-old next season.

Manchester United recently triggered a one-year extension in Paul Pogba’s contract but if the Frenchman is keen on a move away from Old Trafford next summer they will be under pressure to cash in on him.

Valverde has the talent to develop into a top-class player and he could prove to be the ideal long-term replacement for Paul Pogba.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid are willing to let go of one of their prized prospects even if they get the chance to sign someone like Pogba.

The Real Madrid midfielder has a release clause of £640 million and no European club could possibly afford him unless Real Madrid decide to lower their demands.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds at the end of this season.
