Leicester handed injury blow, 24-yr-old star could be out for months

Leicester City have been handed a major injury blow and defender Caglar Soyuncu could be ruled out for three months with an abductor injury.

The talented young center back has established himself as a key player for Brendan Rodgers and it will be interesting to see how Leicester City cope in his absence.

The Foxes have Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana at their disposal but Soyuncu is probably the best defender at the club and his absence will certainly weaken Leicester City.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said: “The muscle is right off the bone so he could be out for three months which is an absolute shame for him and a big miss for us.”

Leicester City will be hoping to challenge for a top four finish this year and they cannot afford to lose key players at this stage of the season.

They need to put together a winning run and build some momentum if they want to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United for Champions League qualification.

Last season Leicester City came close to securing a top four finish but their defensive vulnerabilities ended up costing them eventually.

Injuries to key defenders like Soyuncu could see Leicester face a similar problem once again this season.

It will be interesting to see the Premier League side can overcome these problems in the coming weeks.
