Leeds United crashed to a 1-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Goalkeeper Illan Meslier scored an own goal to hand Wolves their third win in four matches.

The home side will be delighted to secure a vital win and it was the first time they have managed to secure back to back victories since October.

Wolves could have easily scored a wonderful goal early on in the game when Adama Traore’s thunderous effort from 25 yards came back off the crossbar.

The ball then hit the Leeds United keeper before rolling back into the net.

The likes of Liam Cooper and Mateusz Klich had a chance to secure a point for Leeds United but Rui Patricio produced some outstanding saves to deny the Leeds United players.

The Portuguese international produced point-blank saves from Cooper, Helder Costa and Raphinha late on in the game to ensure that Wolves completed a League double over Leeds United.

Wolves are now 11th in the table with 33 points and Leeds United are one place behind them with a match in hand.

Marcelo Bielsa will be disappointed with the showing of his players and the Whites will have to improve a lot if they want to finish in the top half this season.

Leeds have been impressive going forward all season but they were nullified tonight and they must look to come back stronger in the next game.

As for Wolves, this will be a much needed confidence boost.
