AS Roma

AS Roma will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Serie A heavyweights Juventus to the capital this Sunday.

The hosts suffered a 3-1 away defeat to AC Milan in a fiercely contested match that saw Roma reduced to nine men before the end of 90 minutes.

The result extended their winless run to two games and pushed them 14 points off the pace in the Serie A title race.

As a result, José Mourinho will be desperate for his team to bounce back from those poor results and rekindle their top-four bid, which is threatening to disappear as the seventh-placed Roma are currently six points behind Atalanta in fourth.

Mourinho’s side have won four of their last eight matches in Serie A and are averaging 1.60 goals per game since the beginning of the season.

With 32 points so far this season, AS Roma have picked up eight points less than they did last season after 20 matches, and their total in the current season is also six points lower than it was two seasons ago at the same stage. These statistics will be a source of worry for Roma fans who are desperate for their side to come back to their glory days under the Special One.

Possible AS Roma starting line-ups

Rui Patricio, Bryan Cristante, Chris Smalling, Roger Ibanez, Stephan El Shaarawy, Jordan Veretout, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Matias Vina, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Tammy Abraham, Eldor Shomurodov.

Juventus

Juventus will look to continue their gradual ascent up the Serie A table when they travel to Rome this Sunday.

After a shaky period in November and December, the visitors have hit a purple patch and come into this tie on a run of seven games without defeat.

Their last outing was a 1-1 draw with Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli in the league. The result was secured by a second-half goal from winger Federico Chiesa after experienced Belgian attacker Dries Mertens had given Napoli the lead.

Allegri’s men are currently sitting in fifth place, three points behind Atalanta in fourth and eleven behind the leader’s Inter Milan. They can continue to move up the table if they keep picking up points at their current rate.

The visitors have won five of their last eight matches in Serie A and are sitting third in the form guide.

They have conceded an average of 0.90 goals per game since the beginning of the season in the league but have averaged 0.38 goals conceded per game in the last eight league matches. The recent stat is 57.8% lower than their current season’s average and shows how much Juve have improved in recent times.

 Possible Juventus starting line-ups

Wojciech Szczesny, Juan Cuadrado, Matthijs de Ligt, Daniele Rugani, Mattia De Sciglio, Weston McKennie, Manuel Locatelli, Rodrigo Bentancur, Federico Bernardeschi, Paulo Dybala, Federico Chiesa.
