Fiorentina

After their midweek exertions in the UEFA Europa Conference League, Fiorentina are back in Serie A this Sunday, looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

The hosts booked their place in the group stage of the Conference League on Thursday after a goalless draw at De Grolsch Veste having won the first leg by 2-1.

The result means that Vincenzo Italiano’s men have now qualified for the group stage of a European cup after a five-year absence.

They will now hope to continue on that positive note when they return to the domestic league. Fiorentina opened their league campaign with a 3-2 win over Cremonese before being held to a goalless draw against Empoli last time.

And so without a goal in their last two competitive games, they are in danger of going three competitive games without a goal for the first time since 1980. But given that they have scored eight goals in their last two competitive games with Napoli (W2), they will fancy their chances of getting a positive result in this game.

Possible Fiorentina starting line-up

Pierluigi Gollini; Dodo, Nikola Milenkovic, Martinez Quarta, Aleksa Terzic; Alfred Youssef Malah, Giacomo Bonaventura, Rolando Mandragora; Riccardo Saponara, Jonathan Ikone, Luka Jovic.

Injured: Gaetano Castroville, Igor

Napoli

After a summer of anxiety and discontent, Napoli’s Serie A season has begun with a flying start.

Luciano Spalletti’s men have won their first two league games of the season, scoring nine times in that period to shoot themselves to the top of the league table.

I Partenopei are hurtling towards another terrific start after they began last season with eight consecutive Serie A wins, which included a 2-1 victory here. And so securing a similar result would actually see Napoli win their first three games of the season in three straight top-flight campaigns for the first time ever.

Having acquired the services of attacking duo Giovanni Simeone and Giacomo Raspadori – who scored a combined 27 Serie A goals last season– they appear to have the firepower and consistency – to keep their current winning start going.

Possible Napoli starting line-up

Alex Meret; Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Amir Rrahmani, Kim Min-jae, Mario Rui; Andre Zambo Anguissa, Stanislav Lobotka, Piotr Zielinski; Hirving Lozano, Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen.

Injured: Diego Demme

Doubtful: None
