Chelsea to bid for Kounde
Chelsea are set to submit a bid for the Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
The 22-year-old Frenchman was one of the best defenders in La Liga last season and his performances have caught the attention of Thomas Tuchel.
The Champions League winners are looking to strengthen their defensive unit and Kounde could prove to be an exceptional long term investment for them.
The Sevilla defender has the potential to develop into a world-class player and a move to Chelsea could help him fulfil his potential at Stamford Bridge.
Apparently, the Premier League giants have already agreed on personal terms with the player.
They are now hoping to use the proceeds from the sale of Kurt Zouma to sign Kounde. It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a fee with Sevilla.
The move for Kounde this summer makes a lot of sense because Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta are in the twilight years of their career and the Blues will need quality young defenders soon.
Zouma heading to West Ham
Meanwhile, Zouma is heading to West Ham United this summer and the two clubs have agreed on a fee of around €30 million.
The 26-year-old defender had fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and he will be hoping to play regular first-team football with West Ham now.
The player has reportedly signed a five-year contract with the Hammers and he is expected to complete his medical with them tomorrow.
