Inter 2-1 Spezia: Hakimi, Lukaku goals earn Inter Milan three points

Hakimi and Lukaku among the score sheet to hand Inter another win at San Siro

Inter Milan have picked up another win in Serie A against Spezia, with Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi finding the scoresheet.

Both the sides failed to create any clear cut chances in the first half, which ended as a goalless one.

However, Achraf Hakimi put the hosts ahead with a brilliant strike after being released from Lautaro Martinez. The Moroccan wing-back has been impressive in his debut season at San Siro as he has racked up four goals so far.

Romelu Lukaku later followed with a penalty to give his side a two-goal cushion after a handball was detected by VAR in Spezia’s box.

The visitors pulled back one in the dying minutes of the game but that couldn’t prevent Inter from picking up three points.

Inter have been relentless in Serie A this season despite their Champions League setback. They have lost only one game so far against arch-rivals Milan, whom Inter are trailing by a point in the second position.

Antonio Conte looks like a manager in the mission to end Juventus’ dominance in the Italian top-flight over the last decade.

Lukaku’s goal marked his eleventh of the season and is currently trailing top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo by a goal.

Inter will face Verona, who have been a nemesis for top sides this season,  in their next fixture on Wednesday and it remains to be seen whether they can extend their winning run.
