Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is currently in talks to return to Inter Milan this summer.

The Blues are prepared to cut their losses on the Belgian international after a disappointing campaign. The Italian giants are hoping to sign the player on loan with an option to buy.

According to reports, the Italian Serie A giants have submitted an offer of around €7m plus add-ons to loan the player for the coming season, but Chelsea are holding out for a fee of around €10m.

The Blues paid a club-record fee of around £97m to bring the player back to Stamford Bridge, and they will be thoroughly disappointed with the way the transfer has panned out.

Lukaku managed to score just eight goals in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see whether a return to his comfort zone allows him to recapture his peak form.

Lukaku was exceptional for Inter Milan in his final season at the club, and he helped them win the league title as well.

Meanwhile, Inter have been linked with a move for the former Juventus striker Paulo Dybala as well, and it remains to be seen whether they can sign both players in the coming weeks.

Inter Milan will be desperate to win the title once again, and signing the two forwards would certainly improve them considerably.

Meanwhile, the new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is reportedly handling the transfer negotiations himself Lukaku is expected to finalise his move to Inter Milan before the new season begins.

It will be interesting to see if the Blues can bring in a proper replacement in the coming weeks as well.

In recent seasons, the Blues have spent a lot of money on attacking players like Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku, but those signings have failed to live up to the expectations.

Chelsea will need to bring in a reliable goal scorer this summer, and it remains to be seen who they end up getting.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling in recent weeks.
