With their job in the Champions League group stages complete, Inter Milan will look to secure their fourth straight win in Serie A when they take on Sampdoria at the San Siro.
Inter Milan secured their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League in style by beating Viktoria Plzen. The Nerazzurri ran out 4-0 winners against the Czech team, with a brace from Edin Dzeko, Henrikh Mhikitaryan and the returning Romelu Lukaku handing Simone Inzaghi’s side a place in the knockout stages.
The home side will now turn their attention to the domestic league, where they sit two points outside the top four.
Simone Inzaghi’s side endured a rough patch earlier this season, losing three out of four games in Serie A, between early September to early October, which saw them suffer an early setback in the title race. The sequence started with the loss to AC Milan in the Milan Derby in early September, before the defeat to AS Roma in early October.
However, Inter Milan have since then secured three wins on the bounce, including a hard-fought 3-4 win over Fiorentina last weekend, to move into seventh place in the Serie A table.
After narrowly missing out on the Scudetto to AC Milan last time out, Inter Milan will be looking to return into the top four as they chase down league leaders Napoli.
Inter Milan have had the upper hand in this fixture, with three wins in their last five encounters. And with Sampdoria languishing in 18th place in the Serie A tables, a win for the Nerazzurri will be on the cards.

Ever since Dejan Stankovic took over, Sampdoria have been on an upward trajectory with two draws, one loss and one win under the Serbian manager.
Sampdoria come into this game off the back of a 0-1 Cremonese last weekend. Blucerchiati survived a late scare against Cremonese in the seventh minute when Cyriel Dessers missed a penalty following a foul on David Okereke. La Samp made most of their luck by securing all three points courtesy of an Omar Colley goal in the 78th minute.
The win over the Serie A new boys was not enough to send Sampdoria out of the relegation places, and they will now look to secure another good result when they travel to Milan to take on Inter Milan.
Dejan Stankovic will be keen to see his side show character and determination when they take on Simone Inzaghi’s side and avoid humiliation.
