The Bianconeri are looking for replacements for Merih Demiral, who would move to Atalanta on loan.

Juventus are reportedly eyeing a move for Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.

The Bianconeri are currently in the market for defensive reinforcements after they agreed to allow centre-back Merih Demiral on loan for the upcoming season.

The Old Lady are looking at the option of signing Aymeric Laporte, who enjoyed a brilliant Euro 2020 campaign with Spain after switching his allegiance from France.

Laporte endured a lacklustre 2020/21 season with Man City as John Stones. Ruben Dias were untouchable in the defence due to their extraordinary partnership, which played a key role in City winning the Premier League title.

It left Laporte with fewer chances, and he quickly fell down the pecking order of Pep Guardiola.

However, the 25-year-old revived his form in the European Championships, playing an integral role for Luis Enrique’s side to reach the semi-finals.

But it remains to be seen whether those performances would convince Guardiola for the upcoming season.

Elsewhere, Juve are looking to get back to the summit of Serie A under Max Allegri after a disappointing 20/21 season.

Matthijs de Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci and Chiellini are the current defensive options, with the latter one recently extending his stay for two years. Laporte’s addition could take Juve’s defence to a new level.

The former Athletic Club star excels at ball carrying and can be used as an outlet to play out from the back. Defensively, he is outstanding in the air and covers a lot of ground.

It remains to be seen whether the Old Lady can beat Barcelona, another suitor for the Spaniard, in the transfer race.
