Juventus new manager Max Allegri is interested in signing PSG striker Mauro Icardi to reinforce attack. PSG are willing to sell if there is a good offer.

PSG-Inter agreement reached on Mauro Icardi?

The Italian gaffer wants Mauro Icardi to join the Bianconeri ahead of the next season.

Juventus are interested in signing PSG striker Mauro Icardi, with new manager Max Allegri turning out to be a massive fan of the Argentine.

According to a report from The Sun, Icardi is keen on joining the Bianconeri this summer, while Allegri has held talks with the player’s entourage about the transfer interest.

Since his transfer from Inter Milan, the 28-year-old has failed to establish himself as a critical player at Les Parisiens.

Even with the appointment of his compatriot Mauro Pochettino as the new manager last season, Icardi is still down the pecking order at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentine striker is now open to an exit from Parc des Princes, with Juve looking to provide the escape route. In addition to Allegri’s meeting with his entourage, Icardi’s wife has added more posts on social media, hinting about a potential transfer.

However, PSG could cough up 12m pounds to Inter should they sell Icardi to any other Serie A club – a clause attached to his deal with the Ligue 1 giants.

Allegri will be looking for attacking reinforcements. He wants to have a player productive alongside Cristiano Ronaldo – the only saving grace in the Old Lady’s forward line attack last season.

Icardi fits the bill, and under the Italian manager, the former Barcelona academy star can revive his career.

Furthermore, the Argentine is more of a striker with better scoring instinct than Alvaro Morata, who would love to drop deep and link with his teammates.

The Bianconeri endured a lacklustre campaign last term, which saw them lose their dominance in Serie A to fellow rivals Inter Milan. Now they will be looking to return to their former self under Allegri.
