Barcelona appointed Ronald Koeman as new manager

Barcelona are closing in on the signings of Memphis Depay and Gini Wijnaldum.

Ronald Koeman has been appointed as the club’s new manager and he wants to bring the two Dutch internationals to Camp Nou this summer.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can agree on a deal with Lyon and Liverpool for the two players.

Depay has been outstanding for the French side ever since he moved to Ligue 1 and he could prove to be a useful option for Koeman next season. He will add pace, flair and goals to Barcelona’s attack.

Meanwhile, Wijnaldum has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s side as well and he has helped the Reds win the Premier League and the Champions League. The season before the last, he put on a remarkable display against Barcelona to help his side overturn a 3-0 deficit in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Barcelona fans will know all about Wijnaldum and it will be interesting to see if he joins the Spanish outfit this summer.

Barcelona have sold Ivan Rakitic to Sevilla and Luis Suarez is close to leaving for Juventus. It seems that Wijnaldum and Depay could be their replacements next season.

The Spanish outfit have managed to convince Lionel Messi to stay at the club for another season and it will be interesting to see if Koeman can guide the team to the title or the Champions League next season.
