Manchester United have agreed on a deal with Inter Milan for the sale of Alexis Sanchez.
The 31-year-old winger’s Old Trafford has now come to an end.
Man United and Inter agreed on Alexis Sanchez
As per reports, the player will stay at Inter Milan even after his loan deal expires and the Italian club will pay around £13.5million for him.
Furthermore, the player has taken a pay cut to make the move happen. He was being linked with a permanent move to Inter for a while now.
Sanchez has found a new lease of life at Inter Milan and it makes sense for him to continue there. He struggled to make an impact at Manchester United since his move from Arsenal.
But at Inter, he has scored 4 goals and provided 8 assists from 21 outings, and evolved as key man for Antonio Conte in attack, despite an injury-hit season and presence of Martinez, Lukaku, Eriksen, Valero.
Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Sanchez has now agreed to spread £13.5m salary over a three-year deal at Inter Milan, covering a period until June 2023.
Man United and Transfer Market
The Chilean was on massive wages at Old Trafford and United will be delighted to get that off their books. It will allow them to bring in another marquee signing this summer.
Inter have been contributing around £150,000-a-week to his wages. They were keen to avoid paying the full wages amount, and Manchester United were paying rest of his £391,000-a-week wages.
Jadon Sancho has been heavily linked with the Red Devils.
It will be interesting to see who comes in as a replacement for the Chilean winger this summer.
As for Sanchez, he will be hoping to resurrect his career in Italy now. He can be a world class player on his day and he just needs to regain that sharpness and confidence.
The reports claim that Sanchez’s permanent move to Inter Milan could be announced after Inter Milan’s Europa League clash with Getafe on Wednesday.
With his foreseeable future sorted, Sanchez will now look to focus on his football and achieve something with Inter Milan this season.
