Sassuolo

Sassuolo will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome AC Milan to Mapei Stadium.

The hosts come into this tie on the back of a frustrating 2-2 draw at Spezia, taking their points tally to four for the season. Although the manner in which they threw away an early 1-0 lead in the draw with Spezia is a cause for concern for Emilia-Romagna, who is still missing the influence of players like Gianluca Scamacca.

They will welcome Milan looking to record back-to-back home wins to open a Serie A season for just the third time ever after their 1-0 victory against newcomers Lecce in their first game of the season.

However, their chances of doing so look small given that they have lost each of their six head-to-head home games against AC Milan.

Possible Sassuolo starting line-up

Andrea Consigli, Jeremy Toljan, Martin Erlic, Gian Marco Ferrari, Rogerio; Maxime Lopez, Davide Frattesi, Mattheus Henrique; Domenico Berardi, Giorgos Kyriakopoulos, Andrea Pinamonti.

Injured: Hamed Traore, Mert Mulder

Doubtful: Filippo Romagna

Suspended: None

AC Milan

AC Milan continued their unbeaten start to the season with a credible 2-0 win over Bologna last time out.

The win, which was secured courtesy of goals from Raphael Leao and Olivier Giroud, ensured that Stefano Pioli’s side bounced back from their 1-1 draw with Atalanta in round two.

And so, they travel to Mapei Stadium sitting in the second position on the league table on goal difference and have scored less and conceded more goals than table-toppers Napoli.

With ‘I Partenopei’ not in action till later in the day, Pioli’s men can go top of the table if they take maximum points from this game.

Given that they are unbeaten in the league in their last 13 away games, they will travel to the southeast as the clear favourites and with a lot of confidence. Since December, the visitors have won nine of the 13 league games they have played away from home (D4) while keeping five clean sheets in that period.

Another win can be expected from them here as they have won each of their last six travels to this stadium while keeping three clean sheets.

Possible AC Milan starting line-up

Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer; Rafael Leao, Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz; Olivier Giroud.

Injured: Rade Krunic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Doubtful: None
