Juventus want Witsel

Juventus are reportedly keen on signing the Borussia Dortmund midfielder Axel Witsel when the transfer window reopens in January via 90 min.

The Italian giants are looking to improve their midfield options and the 32-year-old could be available for a knockdown price.

The Belgian midfielder will be a free agent at the end of this season and Dortmund might look to cash in on him as opposed to letting him leave on a free transfer in a few months time.

Witsel has been an excellent player for the German outfit and he could prove to be a quality short term acquisition for Juventus.

Apparently, the Italian outfit were keen on signing the midfielder at the start of the season as well but Dortmund were not prepared to cash in on him because of their injury crisis at the middle of the park.

De Laurentiis opens up on Insigne’s Napoli future

In other news, Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne is expected to leave the club at the end of this season when his contract expires.

Club president Aurelio de Laurentiis has now revealed that the player’s future does not depend on the Italian club anymore and he has allowed the attacker to make the best choice for himself.

De Laurentiis added that Insigne is welcome to stay at the club but if the player decides to move on he is prepared to accept his decision.

Insigne is one of Napoli’s best players in recent years and his departure will come as a massive blow for the Italian outfit. It remains to be seen whether they can convince him to sign an extension soon. The player has been linked with Chelsea recently.

The Napoli president said (via Calciomercato): “It does not depend on us, I have never forced my hand. I let the others decide democratically what is the best choice for their life.

“If Insigne wants to stay, we are here to welcome him with open arms. On the other hand, if he considers his career in Naples to be concluded, we will come to terms with it”
