The Catalans have confirmed that a player has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Barcelona have confirmed that a player has been tested positive for the Coronavirus.

As per reports, one of the players – the name remains anonymous – who underwent tests on Tuesday – Pedri, Trincao, Matheus Fernandes, Jean-Clair Todibo, Moussa Wague, Carles Alena, Rafinha, Juan Miranda and Oriol Busquets – has shown positive.

However, the Catalans have emphasized that none of the above players was in contact with the main team squad that will be competing in the Champions League.

The club has also reported that the affected player is currently under self-isolation.

Following Atletico Madrid, Barca are the latest club to become the victims of the Coronavirus.

All the abovementioned players are gearing towards preseason, with more spotlight on Trincao and Pedri.

Both the players have been tipped to grab a spot in the main team next season as Barca are reportedly not planning to lend or sell them.

Trincao, in particular, was way more productive with Braga, producing some impressive displays ever since Barca announced his signing.

The Portuguese youngster also stated his intentions to prove his worth in La Liga while not being hesitant to play in any positions at the Blaugrana.

Pedri, 17, is also looking more optimistic about joining the main team. The Spanish teenager has had an eye-catching season with Las Palmas, racking up 4 goals and 7 assists in the Segunda division.
