Manchester United crash out of the UEFA Champions League as RB Leipzig clinch top spot in their group.

Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League after a 3-2 defeat against RB Leipzig earlier tonight.

The German outfit started the game in splendid form and Angelino gave him the lead two minutes into the game.

RB Leipzig doubled their advantage through Amadou Haidara on the 13th minute and it seemed like Manchester United were in for a rough night.

The home side were completely dominant and Manchester United struggled to get back into the game.

Things went from bad to worse for Manchester United when Justin Kluivert scored the third goal of the game for RB Leipzig on the 69th minute.

The Red Devils have had several penalties given to them over the past year and it was the case once again when Bruno Fernandes converted from the spot on the 80th minute to give his side a glimmer of hope.

Manchester United did well to fight back immediately and Paul Pogba scored the second goal for Manchester United just two minutes later.

The Premier League side needed another goal to level things up with eight minutes remaining but RB Leipzig did well to hold onto their advantage and grind out all three points.

The win tonight means that RB Leipzig have 12 points from six group games and Manchester United have 9.

Paris Saint Germain have nine points as well because their game against Istanbul Basaksehir was abandoned tonight. The fourth official was accused of racism and both sets of players walked off the pitch and the game is likely to be played again tomorrow.

Manchester United have now dropped down to the Europa League this season.
