Willian snubs Chelsea, set to secure 3-year Arsenal deal

Chelsea made a breakthrough in new deal for Willian

Chelsea winger Willian is close to leaving the club this summer.

According to reports, he has turned down the latest offer from the Blues and he has held talks with Arsenal.

Chelsea wanted to offer him a two-year-deal and it will be interesting to see if he can finalize his move to Arsenal in the coming weeks now.

Willian has been a key player for Chelsea this season and his departure will certainly weaken the squad. Lampard will have to bring in proper reinforcements.

The Blues have been linked with Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz.

As for Arsenal, they will gain a top class player on a free transfer. Despite his age, Willian still has a lot to offer at this level.

He will add goals, flair and creativity to Arteta’s midfield. Furthermore, his experience of winning trophies could help the Gunners as well.

Willian has been in the Premier League for a while now and he won’t need time to adapt to Arsenal. Their attacking football suits his style of play and he should be able to make an immediate impact next season.

Arsenal needed to add more depth and quality to their attacking unit and Willian’s signing could prove to be invaluable. Also, the fact that he will be signed for free allows Arteta to use his funds for strengthening the other areas of his squad.

Overall, it looks like a superb bit of investment from the Gunners.
