Can Phil Foden, Mason Mount and Bukayo Saka guide England to Euro 2020 glory this summer?

England as an international side have always failed to make the most of their resources.

The golden generation comprising of Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney etc., failed to win a trophy at the international level, and it will remain as one of the country’s major disappointments.

However, the current England national team has been blessed with several top-class talents once again, and all eyes will be on Gareth Southgate and his young squad this summer.

The England squad is currently filled with youngsters who have excelled at the club level, and it remains to be seen whether they can translate that form onto the international level now.

Three players who could make a defining contribution for England in the Euros this summer are Phil FodenBukayo Saka and Mason Mount.

Phil Foden

Foden has been in exceptional form for Manchester City this season, and he has helped them win the Premier League title and the League Cup.

The young attacking midfielder played a key role in Manchester City’s journey to the Champions League final as well.

The 21-year-old has 16 goals and ten assists to his name this past season, and he could be a prime source of creativity and goals for England this summer.

Bukayo Saka

Meanwhile, it has been a difficult season for Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka because of his side’s failure to win a trophy or qualify for Champions League football.

However, he has been quite impressive individually, and his ability to play as a wingback as well as a winger could turn him into a valuable asset for Southgate and England this summer.

The 19-year-old has 7 goals and 10 assists to his name in all competitions for Arsenal this season.

Mason Mount

The Chelsea midfielder has been outstanding for Thomas Tuchel this season, and he played a key role in their Champions League win earlier this week.

The 22-year-old has proven to be an excellent creative outlet for his club, and he has chipped in with big goals as well.

England could certainly use his drive and creativity during the Euros, and it will be interesting to see if he can step up and deliver for his country now.

Mount has 9 goals and 9 assists in all competitions for Chelsea this season.
