The Euro 2020 group stage offered an awful lot of exciting matches, and fans would have been happy to see their favourite players from the stands. As we move on to the knockouts, Let’s take a look at the top players of the tournament so far.

12. Joshua Kimmich (Germany)

Everyone doubted whether Joshua Kimmich could be successful as a right-back since he has played as a midfielder for Bayern Munich over the last two seasons. However, the German ace hadn’t forgotten the basics of a right-back – the position he used to play before – and tore Portugal apart in the 4-2 win.

11. Luka Modric (Croatia)

We are running out of words to describe how good Luka Modric is even at the age of 35. The Real Madrid midfielder, probably the best player in Croatia, exhibited a stellar display in the win against Scotland, which helped his side get a place in the round of 16.

10. Georginio Wijnaldum ( Netherlands)

The new PSG midfielder already has three goals to his name in the European Championship and ran riot against North Macedonia in Netherland’s final group game.

9. Memphis Depay ( Netherlands)

Following Wijnaldum is his team-mate and Dutch skipper, Memphis Depay, who has been roaring since the European Championship commenced. From taking precise penalties to racking up goals and assist, the new Barcelona would be a player to watch out for in the knockouts.

8. Ciro Immobile (Italy)

Ciro Immobile is the focal point of Italy’s attack, and Robert Mancini appears to be having a huge faith in the Lazio attacker. Although he has shown struggles often, he knows how to score goals as he did against Switzerland and Turkey.

7. Manuel Locatelli (Italy)

Speaking about Italy, it’s hard to keep Manuel Locatelli off the topic as he has been enjoying a stellar campaign thus far. The Sassuolo midfielder made it to the headlines for his match-winning brace against Swiss.

6. Lorenzo Insigne (Italy)

Next up is another Italian, Lorenzo Insigne. The diminutive Napoli forward has already made his presence felt in the season opener against Turks.

5. Kylian Mbappe (France)

Kylian Mbappe is yet to open his account in Euros, and it’s really a surprising thing. But the PSG ace’s presence alone can cause much trouble to the opponents. It is only a matter of time before he gets off the mark, hopeful in the round of 16 clash against Switzerland.

4. N’Golo Kante (France)

A potential Ballon d’Or candidate, N’Golo Kante, has translated his tremendous Chelsea form to France.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

Breaking records after records even at the age of 36, only Cristiano Ronaldo is capable of doing that. The Juventus ace is already topping the scoring charts with 5 goals, and there is a lot to come from him.

2. Kevin de Bruyne (Belgium)

Kevin de Bruyne, despite coming off an injury setback, helped Belgium pull off a stunning comeback against Denmark. The Manchester City star might have come as a substitute but scored the winning goal and set up the strike for Hazard. The performance alone sums up the class and elegance of the 29-year-old.

1. Romelu Lukaku (Belgium)

And at the top of the list is none other than Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. Coming on the back of a stellar season at Inter – his best of his career yet, Lukaku hit the ground running in Euros, mustering 3 goals in 3 games.
