Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has signed a new long term contract with the Gunners.
The 24-year-old joined Arsenal from Celtic in 2019, and he has managed to establish himself as a key player for the London club.
According to reports, the Scottish international has now signed a five-year contract with Arsenal after making 62 appearances since his £25 million move.
The fans will be delighted to see that the club are working to secure the future of their key players.
Arsenal need to improve defensively next season, and holding on to players like Tierney will certainly help them.
The Gunners are close to putting together a talented young defensive core. They managed to sign Gabriel last season, and they are now closing in on the signing of Ben White from Brighton.
Arsenal technical director Edu claimed that Tierney is a player with tremendous ability, and he has a fantastic attitude and mentality.
“Anyone who has seen him play will recognize very quickly that he is a player of huge ability, but I can tell you that he is also a player with a fantastic attitude and mentality,” Arsenal technical director Edu said.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta called him “a pleasure to work with”.
“His quality, energy, commitment and professionalism, not only on match days but every day in training, are always at such a high level.”
There is no doubt that the 24-year-old is one of the most talented players at the club right now, and he has the potential to develop into a top-class left-back in future.
The young full-back had some injury problems last season, and he will be hoping to get over them and help Arsenal get back into the Champions League next year.
