Canada

After brushing aside Honduras on Thursday night, Canada will look to continue their impressive run in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers when they welcome their fierce rivals, the USA, to the chilly Tim Hortons Field in Ontario.

In their last game, the hosts recorded a 1-0 win over Honduras to extend their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions.

The win also made it four wins on the bounce for the hosts and ensured that they come into this tie sitting at the top of the table, one point ahead of their rivals.

With four qualifier games still to play after this, John Herdman’s side can take a step closer to qualification if they win this game against the USA.

However, their record against their North American cousins does not generate confidence, as they have won just once in their last eleven meetings. But given their record in the WCQ campaign, they will fancy their chances of winning this game.

The Canucks are unbeaten in this qualifiers campaign and are the side with the highest goals scored and least goals conceded after nine games.

Possible Canada starting line-up

Milan Borjan; Richie Laryea, Steven Vitória, Kamal Miller, Alistair Johnston; Mark-Anthony Kaye, Stephen Eustaquio; Tajon Buchanan, Cyle Larin, Liam Millar; Jonathan David.

Injured: Alphonso Davies

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

USA

USMNT will look to continue their impressive run in the World Cup qualifiers when they travel to Hamilton this Sunday.

The visitors have lost just one game in this qualifying campaign – a shock 1-0 loss to Panama last October. But they come into this tie on the back of a 1-0 win over El Salvador that was secured courtesy of a goal by Fulham’s Antonee Robinson.

The win was their fourth win in the last four games and ensured they maintained their position at the table behind Canada.

But they can overtake their rivals if they win this game, while a loss could see them drop down to third if Mexico wins their own game.

But Gregg Berhalter will fancy his side’s chances of taking maximum points or at least avoiding defeat in this game, given their dominance in this fixture.

Possible USA starting line-up

Matt Turner; Antonee Robinson, Chris Richards, Walker Zimmerman, DeAndre Yedlin; Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams, Yunus Musah; Timothy Weah, Ricardo Pepi, Christian Pulisic.

Injured: Zack Steffens

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Prediction

Canada 1-1 the USA
