El Salvador

El Salvador will look to win their first game in three tries when they welcome Costa Rica to San Salvador this Sunday night.

They are currently sitting sixth in the table, having won just ten points from their opening 12 games (W2, D4, L6).

They have failed to win their last three home games in the WCQ and will find it difficult to win this game considering that they have not beaten Costa Rica since 2009.

Mario Gonzalez (GK); Bryan Tamacas, Eriq Zavaleta, Ronald Gómez, Romulo Villalobos, Roberto Domínguez; Christian Martinez, Jairo Mauricio Henriquez, Narciso Orellana, Joaquin Rivas; Nelson Bonilla.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica will look to take a step closer to World Cup qualification when they face El Salvador on Sunday night,

The visitors continued their remarkable late push for a top-four finish in the CONCACAF qualifiers group last time out when they beat Canada 1-0.

The win made it five games without defeat for Los Ticos and put them one point ahead of Panama in the race for a place in the playoffs.

Given that they are currently four points behind Mexico who are sitting in third place, they still have the opportunity to finish in the automatic spot. But that will require them winning this match and their next while hoping that Mexico drops points in their last two games.

Possible Costa Rica starting line-up

Keylor Navas (GK); Bryan Oviedo, Kendall Waston, Francisco Calvo, Keysher Fuller; Gerson Torres, Yeltsin Tejeda, Celso Borges; Bryan Ruiz, Joel Campbell, Johan Venegas.

Injured: None

Doubtful: Rónald Matarrita

Suspended: None
