Brazil have announced their squad for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, with both Dani Alves and Manchester United midfielder Fred being recalled to the national team set-up.

Brazil are set to face Ecuador and Paraguay in the next month’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Former PSG and Barcelona star Dani Alves, who is currently 38, has managed to earn a call up while Manchester United midfielder Fred returns after a long hiatus.

Fred has been impressive for the Red Devils this season, and his performances have caught the eyes of Brazil manager Tite.

Tite said: “It’s because of his performances. The high level that he has been showing at United, a team that is runner-up in the Premier League.”

Alves, who was instrumental in lifting the Copa America title in 2019, has managed to make the cut in Tite’s squad.

The veteran right-back left PSG in 2019 to join his country club Sao Paulo.

As far as the defenders are concerned, Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva has retained his place while Benfica’s Lucas Verissimo has been handed his first-ever call-up.

Tite heaped praises on Thiago Silva for his ability to maintain his consistency at 36.

“I don’t like the word reinvent that much. I believe that people model themselves to different situations. Thiago has already been invented.

“He has a great professional capacity; he is a true athlete, just seeing the physical care he takes. His physical condition. The technical quality he has for a defender, his perceptions and that together with his conduct, allows him to play at this high level.”

Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa continues to get the approval of Tite and Lucas Paqueta, who looks a revived figure after moving to Lyon, is one of the midfielders called alongside Fabinho and Casemiro.

Brazil’s attack is looking rich in quality with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, Richarlison, Vinicius Jr, led by PSG superstar Neymar.
