Adelaide United 1-0 Melbourne Victory: Teenage sensation Toure scores to seal 3-points for Adelaide

Mohamed Toure-Adelaide United

Young prodigy Mohammed Toure was on the scoresheet once again to help United defeat Melbourne Victory.

Adelaide United have defeated Melbourne Victory 1-0 at home, with teenage sensation scoring the winning goal in the second half.

Melbourne was unfortunate to take an early lead after Gestede’s header hit the post.

The home side proved more threatening whenever they broke on the counter and at one promising instance, Toure side netted the ball. Victory’s goalkeeper Crocombe was called into action on many occasions in the first half.

Melbourne had a decent chance to strike first right before the first time when Elvis Kamsoba, who came in as a substitute, tested Delianov with a shot.

The second half also saw Crocombe defy Tomi Juric’s long-range effort with an acrobatic save but it didn’t take long for Juric’s strike partner Toure to beat Victory goalkeeper to give his side the breakthrough.

The 16-year-old rightfully deserved the goal after being a menace to Melbourne’s defence from the off. Toure was also on the score sheet in Adelaide’s defeat against Perth Glory in their previous fixture.

Victory were fruitless in the attack – proven by the stat as they had only one shot on target – as they eventually ended up on the losing side.

United have bounced back from their defeat against Perth Glory and moved to second in the table. Melbourne Victory have lost both of their games this season.
