Adelaide United 1-2 Perth Glory: Perth secure a late come back win

Perth Glory

Adelaide were left stunned by Perth Glory’s come-back at Hindmarsh Stadium.

Perth Glory produced a great turn around to beat Adelaide United 2-1 as Fornaroli and Stynes found the scoresheet in the final quarter.

Adelaide struck first in the 20th minute when skipper Stefan Mauk found the nets after a brilliant cut back from winger Ben Halloran. The goal marked his second of this season, having previously scored in the 2-0 win over Melbourne City last month.

Halloran, who featured in the scoresheet in the previous encounter against Perth, spurned an easy one vs one chance with keeper Tando Velaphi right before the half time

The home side started the second half with more intentions as the 16-year-old Mohammed Toure side netted his strike after a promising counter-attack.

As the game wore on, Perth started to gain more control and they eventually found their equaliser in the 73rd minute, with Fornaroli finding the nets after an assist from Neil Kilkenny.

The visitors finally put a dagger in Adelaide’s heart when Daniel Stynes’ rolled into the nets after taking a huge deflection off Adelaide’s defence. Stynes came off the bench to lead Glory to an incredible comeback win, thus being clinical in both home and away fixtures this season.

Perth Glory have now secured back to back away wins after defeating Melbourne City last week. They ascended to the third position in the table while United are currently Seventh.
