Adelaide United

Adelaide United will look to pick up their first win of the new season when they welcome Melbourne Victory to the Coopers Stadium this Friday.

The hosts have drawn their opening games of the season so far, with the last being a 0-0 draw with Brisbane Roar last week. The game was the first time they had failed to score in a game since their 0-0 draw with Wellington Phoenix in early May.

Carl Veart’s side will be desperate to get a win here and move higher up the table as they are currently occupying the eighth place on the table. A record of three consecutive wins in the last three games against Melbourne Victory will give them confidence that they can win again this Friday.

Possible Adelaide United starting line-ups

Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory come into this tie fresh from a disappointing 3-0 loss to Perth Glory.

Goals from Antonee Burke-Gilroy, Ciaran Bramwell and Bruno Fornaroli gave Glory the win, condemning Tony Popovic’s side to their first loss in seven games.

The result was also the first time they had failed to score a goal in seven games. Despite the loss, the visitors ended game-week three sitting in the top three places.

After finishing at the bottom of the table last season, they are looking to finish the season inside the top six.
