Lille

Despite a disappointing start to their title defence, Lille are slowly picking up their momentum after picking up three consecutive victories in all competitions.

Their empathic 3-1 win against Wolfsburg in the midweek also ensured their place in the Champions League round of 16.

Lille are unbeaten in their last seven games across all competitions and would look to extend the run against Lyon.

Jonathan David has scored five goals in the last seven games for Lille and he is currently leading the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 11 goals.

Burak Yilmaz, the veteran striker who inspired Lille to the Ligue 1 title last season, has racked up five goals and three assists across all competitions this season.

A win on Sunday would help Lille move to the top half of the Ligue 1 table, as they are only three points behind fourth-placed Lens.

Possible Lille line-up: Ivo Grbic; Zeki Celik, Jose Fonte, Svan Botman, Domagoj Bradaric; Jonathan Ikone, Andre, Renato Sanches, Jonathan Bamba; Jonathan David, Burak Yilmaz

Lyon

Like Lille, Lyon have experienced a troubled start to this season despite being billed as a top-four contender.

Wins have come for Les Gones at irregular intervals this season and they are currently 12th in the Ligue 1 table.

In contrast, their Europa League campaign has been extraordinary, as they have booked their place to the next round by topping their group. They also produced a 1-1 against Rangers in their final group game.

They will turn their attention towards this weekend’s Ligue 1 fixture against Lille, who have been impressive lately.
