Bologna

After one point from their opening three games, Bologna welcome Salernitana to Stadio Renato Dall’Ara still searching for their first win of the season.

The hosts opened their league campaign with a 2-1 loss to Lazio, followed by a 1-1 draw with Verona and a 2-0 loss to AC Milan last time out.

They now face the prospect of going winless across their first four games of the Serie A season after doing so in the 2018/19 campaign. Although that season they rallied to get the club’s only top-half Serie A finish of its current top-flight spell, they know that they must get their first win of the season soon.

Given that they went unbeaten last season Salernitana last season while winning 3-2 in their home meeting, Bologna fans will fancy their side’s chances of getting their first win of the season.

Possible Bologna starting line-up

Lukasz Skorupski; Adama Soumaoro, Gary Medel, Jhon Lucumi, Lorenzo De Silvestri, Andrea Cambiaso; Nicolas Dominguez, Roberto Soriano, Jerdy Schouten; Riccardo Orsolini, Marko Arnautovic.

Injured: None

Doubtful: Mitchell Dijks

Salernitana

Salernitana will look to make it two wins in two games when they travel to Bologna this Thursday.

The visitors began their league campaign in a disappointing fashion having lost to Parma in the first round of Coppa Italia before losing 1-0 to AS Roma in the first league game of the season.

But since then, they have earned four points from their next two games against Udinese (0-0) and Sampdoria (4-0 win) last weekend.

The 4-0 win over Sampdoria on Sunday represented their joint-biggest margin of victory in the top-flight, and they will hope to utilise the momentum gained, to now potentially rack up their first set of successive clean-sheet Serie A victories since 1999.

The visitors have proven to be stern opposition away from home in recent games, with a 0-0 draw against Udinese to start their road campaign making it five games unbeaten on their travels dating back to mid-April (W2, D3).

Given their away form they will go into this tie confident of getting their maiden head-to-head away win at the fifth attempt (D2, L2), and avenge last season’s 3-2 loss here despite scoring first.

Possible Salernitana starting line-up

Luigi Sepe; Dylan Bronn, Norbert Gyömbér, Federicoo Fazio, Antonio Candreva, Pasquale Mazzocchi; Lassana Coulibaly, Giulio Maggiore, Tonny Vilhena; Federico Bonazzoli, Boulaye Dia.

Doubtful: Franck Ribéry, Ivan Radovanovic
