Barcelona eyeing January swoop for Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic

The USMNT star has emerged as a top target for the Catalans.

Barcelona are interested in recruiting Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic, who has struggled for regular game time this season.

The USMNT forward’s progress has been hampered by injuries this season and he currently finds himself down the pecking order of Thomas Tuchel.

According to a report from ESPN, Barca are exploring the options to sign Pulisic on loan while the player seems to be ready to leave Stamford Bridge to reinstate his career.

The report also adds that Barca are keeping tabs on a handful of Chelsea stars: Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Barca have been left with fewer resources in the attack after the latest injury to Memphis Depay.

With Sergio Aguero and Fati remaining on the sidelines and Luuk de Jong showing no signs of improvement, the Catalan giants are keen on signing a new forward in the summer.

Besides Pulisic, Manchester City’s Ferran Torres is another reported target for Barca from the Premier League.

Man City are reportedly ready to part ways with the Spaniard for a suitable fee just a year after his acquisition from Valencia.

Pulisic would provide an immediate solution to Barca’s attacking problems as he has already shown on a few occasions at Chelsea that he can be unstoppable on his day.

Although his injury record could be a factor to consider, he would be a great addition to the Catalans on a short-term basis.

The 23-year-old has racked up two goals in 6 league appearances for the Blues this season.
