Atletico Madrid have agreed on a deal to sign Matheus Cunha from Hertha BSC.

The 22-year-old Brazilian attacker is highly rated across Europe and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player.

Atletico Madrid needed to add more depth and quality to their attacking unit and Cunha should prove to be a quality long term investment.

The Brazilian is highly rated across Europe and he showed his quality in the Bundesliga last season and with his country during the Olympics.

Diego Simeone’s men managed to win La Liga last season and they will be hoping to build on that and defend their domestic crown this season as well.

The likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona are there for the taking and Atletico Madrid will fancy their chances of winning the title once again.

The Spanish giants already have top-class attackers like Luis Suarez and Joao Felix at their disposal. The arrival of Cunha could take them to a whole new level.

Apparently, Atletico Madrid are paying a fee of around €30 million for the Brazilian international. Cunha is set to undergo his medical with the Spanish club now.

There is no doubt that the attacker has the potential to justify the outlay.

It remains to be seen whether Cunha can quickly adapt to the Spanish league and make an immediate impact this season.

The Brazilian was initially linked with a move to the Premier League as well with the likes of Everton and Leeds United keen on securing his services.

However, the Spanish outfit have managed to fend off the competition & the player.
