Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, wants to bring him back to Sporting Lisbon

Cristian Ronaldo-Juventus

The Portuguese forward is facing an uncertain future at Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s mother, Dolores Aveiro, has stated her desire to bring back the Portuguese star to Sporting CP amid an uncertain future at Juventus.

Ronaldo’s transfer rumours have been circulating lately, with many reports stating the Portuguese international could seek an exit from Bianconeri should they miss out on the Champions League qualification this term.

Perhaps, Juve have endured a whirlwind season this term under Andrea Pirlo. Not only did they lose the Serie A title, but they are also currently fifth in the table, with their UCL qualification chances looking bleak.

Amid the transfer speculations, Aveiro has stated that she would convince her son to make a return to Sporting CP, where Ronaldo spent his formative years.

While addressing the Sporting fans, who were celebrating their club’s title win, Aveiro said: I’ll talk to him [Cristiano] to bring him back. “Next year, he will play in Alvalade [Sporting’s stadium].”

Ronaldo facing too much criticism for Juve’s debacle

The 36-year-old has received a lot of stick for the Old Lady’s worrying form this season, but in reality, it is quite harsh to point the fingers at Ronaldo alone as he Serie A’s top scorer this season. Although he might have been poor in the big games, Juve have been collectively poor for the entirety of the season.

Sporting CP will offer Champions League football.

As stated above, Ronaldo might not want to see himself as a Juve player without the Champions League, and in such a case, Sporting CP can provide him with the escape route. The Portuguese outfit has created history by winning the Primeira Liga for the first time in 19 years, dethroning the likes of FC Porto and Benfica. They have also secured the Champions League berth, which could convince Ronaldo to join his former club. However, it remains to be seen whether such a shocking transfer can happen this summer as PSG are also said to be keeping tabs on the Portuguese skipper.
