Fiorentina 1-2 Lazio : Lazio remain in title race after a comeback win

Fiorentina 1-2 Lazio Lazio remain on title track with a Comeback win

Lazio picked up a 2-1 win over Fiorentina in Serie A at Stadio Olimpico last night.

The home side are now four points behind league leaders Juventus

Franck Ribery scored a fantastic solo goal on the 25th minute to give the visitors a well-deserved lead. However, Lazio fought back to claim the win eventually.

Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto scored to secure the three points for the title challengers.

Immobile scored the equalizer on the 67th minute and Alberto fired in a late winner for his side. Immobile’s penalty was controversial as replays suggested that it wasn’t a penalty.

However, there was no VAR intervention and Immobile converted from the spot.

Lazio will be delighted to have won the game and they will be looking to take the title race down to the wire now.

After the defeat against Atalanta, their title chances seemed over. However, a four point gap is hardly beyond reach now.

It will be interesting to see how Juventus perform in their next few games.

Lazio will probably have to win all of their games to win the title this season.

Juventus are used to playing under pressure and they have experience of these situations. It is highly unlikely that they will drop points here.

Fiorentina are now 14th in the table with just 31 points from 28 games. They are six points clear of the drop zone but they cannot afford to slip up anymore.

They will have to bounce back in their next game with a good performance.
