Les Parisiens are considering axing around seven players in January to manage the wage bill.

PSG’s wage bill has increased sevenfold following a blockbuster transfer window in the summer, which saw the French giants sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi.

Messi’s free transfer from Barcelona was the head-line grabber, and the Argentine is reportedly earning 41m euros per year at Parc des Princess.

While the superstars like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are already earning a big sum of money, PSG are forced to sell few outcasts to balance the books.

According to a report from the Mirror, Les Parisiens are planning to sell around seven players in January.

The goalkeepers are stacked at PSG and names like Alexandre Letellier, Denis Franchi and Sergio Rico being down the pecking order of Mauricio Pochettino. Keylor Navas and Donnarumma are currently competing for the no.1 spot.

Rafinha is also expected to leave sooner after finding less playing time. The former Barcelona star moved to Ligue 1 last year and has since failed to be a regular.

The trio of Colin Dagba, Layvin Kurzawa and Abdou Diallo are also placed on the transfer exchange as they have found themselves out of favour following the summer arrivals of Achraf Hakimi, Ramos and Nuno Mendes.

Mauro Icardi could be the biggest name in the list yet, with the Argentine striker facing an uncertain future at Parc des Princes.

Icardi has clearly lost his credibility due to the presence of Mbappe, Messi, Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler.

The 28-year-old was subject to interest from Serie A giants Juventus during the summer transfer window.
