Kimmich approves Alaba exit

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is heading to Real Madrid at the end of this season.

The 28-year-old will be a free agent in the summer, and he has already agreed to a deal with the Spanish giants.

Alaba’s teammate Joshua Kimmich has now welcomed the Austrian’s reported move to Real Madrid, claiming that it is a logical next step in the versatile defender’s career.

“He has won everything here multiple times,” Kimmich told Sky Germany. “Twice the triple, once even six titles in one year. Real is, in any case, a worthy club.

“There aren’t many steps you can take after playing for Bayern, but Real Madrid isn’t that bad as the next step.”

Signing a player of Alaba’s quality on a free transfer is a masterstroke from Real Madrid, and it will be interesting to see how the 28-year-old adapts to Spanish football next season.

The Austrian can play as a centre back, a left-back as well as a defensive midfielder. His versatility will be very useful for Zinedine Zidane.

The 28-year-old has already won every trophy at club level, and he will be hoping to prove his quality in another League now.

Varane exit

Meanwhile, the arrival of David Alaba could force Real Madrid star Raphael Varane out of the club.

The Frenchman has a contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2022, and the Spanish outfit could be forced to sell him if he does not sign an extension with them this summer.

The 27-year-old is one of the best centre backs around Europe, and the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are thought to be keen on him.

Apparently, the player would cost around £86 million, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.
