Barcelona update: Fati injury boost, Alena set for loan move, Puig agrees to new deal, Ilaix Moriba

Borussia Dortmund want Ansu Fati to replace Sancho-Barcelona

Positive update on Ansu Fati

Barcelona have stated through their official website that teenager Ansu Fati is undergoing a regenerative biological treatment for the knee injury he suffered in November.

Earlier it was stated that the young Spaniard could be out of action for around four months and now the signs are indicating that he would return in March.

Fati’s return would be a huge boost for Barca following his impact this season. The Catalans will play PSG in the Champions League round of 16 in March and there are chances that Fati could make his return to the second leg.

Alena set for Getafe loan

Barca midfielder Carles Alena is set for a loan move to fellow La Liga club Getafe, having struggled for game time so far under Ronald Koeman.

The La Masia graduate spent half of the last season at Real Betis and returned in the summer.

Riqui Puig agrees to new contract

Recent reports are stating that another out of favour midfielder Riqui Puig has agreed to a new deal with the Catalans.

Puig’s current deal expires at the end of the next season and he has garnered interest from Arsenal and AC Milan.

Now, the home-grown talent has agreed to an extension until 2023, which is perhaps good news for the future of the club.

Ilaix Moriba to be handed first-team opportunity

Ronald Koeman is looking to hand Barca B player Ilaix Moriba a chance at the first team amidst the speculated departure of Alena.

The 17-year-old has been training with the first team recently and has impressed the Dutch manager.
