Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly agreed on a deal to sign Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha on loan this January.

According to GOAL, the Brazilian will join the Premier League side on loan this January in a deal that includes a €50m purchase obligation.

Wolves starved off competition from West Midlands rivals Aston Villa to sign the 23-year-old who only joined Atletico for €30m in 2021.

Since signing from Hertha Berlin, Cunha has struggled to make an impact in Madrid and is not in manager Diego Simeone’s plans for the future. The former RB Leipzig player has made 17 appearances for Simeone’s side this season but is still waiting for his first goal.
