Koeman wants to honour Barcelona contract
Koeman, who is tied to the Catalans until 2022, has been put under scrutiny for dropping points against Granada and Atletico Madrid, which limited the chances of Barca winning the La Liga title.
Furthermore, despite the Catalans’ notable progress under the Dutch gaffer, poor results against bigger opponents leave a lot to be desired.
However, amid the speculations that Koeman wouldn’t continue with the Blaugrana if they were to end up short in the title race, the Dutchman has insisted he will honour his contract.
“The president showed me his confidence from the first day and it is him who must decide.
“I signed for two years here and I see myself leading this group of players next season.”
Koeman also added that the title race is still on but Barca want to ensure they win the remainder of the games.
” I don’t think the league is out of our reach.
“We are in the same situation as before. There is one less game left, with Atletico ahead, but we must not think about the others but about winning our games.”
Camavinga identified as Busquets replacement
Barca are currently in the market for a new midfielder, who can be a long term successor to Sergio Busquets.
Busquets has been in fantastic form this season but the Blaugrana are aware that he will be 33 in July.
The 18-year-old has shot to fame after impressing in Ligue 1 and also made his way into the France national team.
