Aguero ready to take pay cut for Barca move, Guardiola challenges him to make a case for City deal

Sergio Aguero-Manchester City

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is nearing the end of his contract at the Premier League club and he has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer.

According to reports, the newly appointed Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants to sign the 32 year old striker and the player is keen on a move to camp now as well.

Aguero will be reunited with his friend and international teammate Lionel Messi if he joins Barcelona this summer and it remains to be seen whether Manchester City can convince him to continue in the Premier League instead.

Apparently, Aguero is willing to take a pay cut to move back to Spain this summer.

He has already proven his qualities in the Premier League and he has won every domestic trophy possible with Manchester City.

The striker did not enjoy great success with Atletico Madrid during his time in Spanish football and he will be hoping to win some trophies in Spain as well.

Apparently Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could consider offering the 32-year-old a new deal if he can overcome his injury problems and usurp Gabriel Jesus as the club’s main striker.

Apparently, Manchester City are looking for the Argentine to prove that he is still an elite striker and that he can overcome his injuries and deliver consistently for the Premier League side.

The likes of Griezmann have failed to hit top form since moving to Barcelona and the Spanish club could definitely use more firepower upfront. Someone like Aguero would be a massive upgrade on the likes of Braithwaite and he would improve Barcelona’s attack considerably.
