Ferdinand suggests two signings

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged the Premier League club to bring in do superstars like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe at the end of this season.

The Red Devils have struggled to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool in recent years and Ferdinand believes that the two players could elevate Manchester United as a team and help them challenge for the top owners.

Signing Haaland and Mbappe would cost a considerable amount of money and it will be interesting to see if United can afford both players in one summer.

Furthermore United are not the only team keen on signing the two young attackers and they will have to fend off competition from the European elite to sign them.

Ferdinand said: “If people like Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe are available, you can’t allow them to go somewhere else and you need to move heaven and earth to get them here.

“Manchester United are used to having superstars and those boys would change the narrative at this football club, that’s how good they are. There’s room for improvement and opportunity to improve this squad, there’s players out there available, it seems. We need to be in the mix.”

Silva flattered with United links

The Premier League giants have been linked with the Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva as well.

The Portuguese international joined the German club in 2019 and he has developed into one of the best strikers in Germany.

Silva has scored 19 goals in 21 Bundesliga games this season and he could be the number nine Manchester United are desperately crying out for.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to sign a proper goal scorer and Silva would be an ideal fit.

The talented striker has now revealed that he is flattered with the links to Old Trafford. However, the player claims that he is not too keen on talking about his future and the attention from the top European clubs is a result of his hard work.
