Bayern 5-0 Düsseldorf; Bayern thrash Düsseldorf

Bayern 5-0 Düsseldorf - Bayern thrash Düsseldorf

Goals from Robert Lewandowski, Benjamin Pavard, Alphonso Davies and a Mathias Jorgensen own goal handed the German champions a comfortable victory.

Jorgensen handed Bayern the lead with his own goal on the 15th minute and Pavard added a second around the hour mark.

Lewandowski made it three moments before the break and then doubled his tally after the restart.

Davies made it five for Bayern a couple of minutes later.

Bayern are now within touching distance of another league title. They need three more wins to wrap up another successful domestic season.

The German giants were in total control against Dusseldorf. They went into the game without too many changes to their side and Bayern were able to carry on their momentum.

Boateng was the only player dropped from the side that won their last league game.

As for Dusseldorf, Uwe Rosler changed five players after their midweek win over Schalke, including dropping top scorer Rouwen Hennings to the bench.

Rosler’s decision certainly affected the flow of his side and they struggled to adapt to Bayern’s pace and precision.

The away side remain a point off Mainz in the 16th place and it will be interesting to see if they manage to beat the drop this season.

Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig will have fancied their chances when the season resumed, but Bayern have been relentless so far and they deserve to end the campaign as champions.

It will be interesting to see if their challengers drop points in the coming weeks. In that case, Bayern might not even need the three wins.
