Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas as a short-term replacement for their injured goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
The Germany number-one goalie has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his leg while skiing. The 36-year-old was part of the Germany squad that crashed out of the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar, but will not play football again this season after having to undergo surgery to fix the broken leg.
Bayern are looking to sign a short-term replacement for him, and according to Kicker, they are considering a move for PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
The Costa Rican goalkeeper is currently behind Italian shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma at PSG and has not featured a single minute since the arrival of Christophe Galtier at PSG this season.
However, Florian Plettenberg, a Sky Sports Germany journalist who regularly covers Bayern, has a different opinion about the situation of Navas in Bayern Munich.
According to the Sky journalist who was analysing the situation on his Twitter handle, Bayern have many options, including Croatia World Cup hero Dominik Livakovic.
“Internally, not everyone is totally convinced that Livakovic is the perfect replacement for Neuer,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
“No negotiations have been reported so far. There was talk of Yann Sommer. Keylor Navas too, but the internal opinion is that he is too old, too expensive.”
According to reports, Bayern’s first option is to recall Alexander Nubel from Monaco. The 26-year-old German goalkeeper is presently on loan at the Ligue 1 side from Bayern.
