Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is all set to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of this season, and Bayern Munich are looking to snap him up.

The Danish international has been offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge, but the player has refused to sign a contract extension.

The German Bundesliga champions are reportedly looking to replace Niklas Sule with the Chelsea defender this summer as per Goal. Sule has rejected an offer to sign a contract extension with Bayern Munich, and the German defender is expected to leave at the end of this season.

The German is keen on a move to the Premier League or the Spanish league.

Meanwhile, Christensen has done well for Chelsea this season, and he could prove to be a quality long term addition for the German club.

The Danish international is yet to reach his peak, and he is likely to improve further with experience and game time under Julian Nagelsmann next season.

Signing a player of his calibre on a free transfer could prove to be a masterstroke from the German outfit, and it remains to be seen whether they can fend off the competition and secure his signature in the coming months.

The player has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona as well.

Chelsea will probably be hoping to reach an agreement with the player by the end of the season, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Recently Thomas Tuchel urged the player to sign an extension with the Blues, and he revealed publicly that the final decision rests on the player now, and the club are waiting for a confirmation.

The German manager also added that Christensen is a big part of Chelsea, and he is a perfect fit for his side.
