Arsenal are interested in signing the French attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir this summer.
The former Lyon ace has done very well for Real Betis so far and he would be a good addition to Arteta’s midfield.
Fekir will add flair, creativity and goals to the side. He is also very lethal from set pieces and that would add a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack.
The Gunners have two good strikers in Lacazette and Aubameyang. However, they are missing an elite creator. Fekir could be that player for them.
Ozil has regressed a lot in the recent seasons and the German is no longer a key player.
Fekir has played with Lacazette before and the two could link up well next season.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal are willing to pay the €50m asking price for the Frenchman.
The report adds that Newcastle are keen on the player as well.
The Magpies are set for a takeover and their potential owners are likely to arm them with a massive transfer warchest this summer.
Arsenal cannot afford to underestimate Newcastle in the chase.
The Gunners should look to seal the transfer as soon as possible in order to avoid a bidding war later.
Fekir would certainly be tempted if Arsenal come calling. They are a massive club and it would be a step up for the player as well.
Arsenal could give him the chance to show his quality in Europe next season as well. Betis certainly won’t be able to provide him with such a platform regularly.
Also, they won’t be able to match the wages Fekir could earn at Arsenal.
