Chelsea target Serge Gnabry has reportedly agreed to sign a new contract at Bayern Munich after being satisfied by the latest contract offer from the Bundesliga giants.

The 26-year-old has been the subject of much speculation as his current contract at the German giants was set to expire next summer. He was linked with moves to Chelsea and Liverpool

The Blues reportedly made what were described as ‘tentative’ enquiries over signing the German, while the two Manchester clubs were also linked with a £35million summer move.

But according to reports in Germany Gnabry has agreed to extend his stay at Allianz Arena.

The report in Kicker via Sportsmail claim that only the final details of the deal need to be sorted before the two parties agreed to a contract extension. The deal that has been offered to Gnabry is a four-year deal with the option of a fifth.

The same report adds that Gnabry was not satisfied following initial discussions with Bayern this summer, which is why he has not already committed his long-term future to the club.

But those issues have been resolved according to Kicker, meaning that the winger has snubbed a return to the Premier League in favour of staying in the Bundesliga, where he can envisage seeing out the rest of his career.

Gnabry has scored 65 goals in 171 games for Bayern and can play on either flank as well as down the middle.

Last season he scored 14 goals and laid on six assists in 34 Bundesliga games, which was his best goal return in the league.

Spanish giants Real Madrid were also credited with interest earlier on in the summer in the 27-year-old, while Arsenal, for whom he scored one goal in 18 appearances, were also strongly linked.
