Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move away from the German club this summer.

The 33-year-old Polish international has one year left on his contract with a German club, and he has his heart set on a move to Barcelona.

However, the Spanish giants have not been able to agree on a fee with the Bundesliga champions yet. The club director Oliver Kahn has revealed that he expects the world-class marksman to continue at the Allianz Arena next season.

The former German international has revealed that Lewandowski has a contract with Bayern Munich. He expects to see the Polish international report to the club on the first day of pre-season.

He said: “As far as Robert is concerned, not much has changed. He has a contract until 2023 and we are looking forward to him showing up with us on the first day of training. Robert is evaluating the options of Barça and others. But it is good to remember that he has a contract with Bayern and, this is very important, we are not worried.”

Barcelona have reportedly made a £34m bid for the player, which has not been accepted yet.

The 33-year-old has been an exceptional servant for Bayern Munich since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund. He has helped them win multiple trophies during his time at the club.

However, it seems that he has had a fallout with the club’s management, and he is keen to move on this summer.

Lewandowski has publicly admitted that he wants the situation to be resolved amicably and does not want to force a move away from the club.

It will be interesting to see if the two parties can come to some sort of agreement in the next few weeks now.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Sadio Mane from Liverpool, and the Senegal international has been unveiled as their new recruit.

The German champions have had an underwhelming Champions League campaign this past year. With the addition of the former Liverpool star, they will feel that they can put up a strong challenge in the European competition next season.

However, it is imperative that they hold on to their star striker Robert Lewandowski.
